Victoria Country has announced its squad for the 2023 AFL National Championships – U18 Boys.

Victoria County plays its first game at the Championships on Sunday when it hosts South Australia at IKON Park from 10:35am. The match will be broadcast on the AFL website and Fox Footy.

The 31-player squad features players from all six Coates Talent League country programs, namely Bendigo Pioneers, Dandenong Stingrays, Geelong Falcons, Gippsland Power GWV Rebels and Murray Bushrangers.

Six players from the 2023 AFL Academy Boys program feature in the squad, including Zane Duursma, Archer Reid, Harley Reid, Cooper Simpson, George Stevens and Darcy Wilson.

Koroit’s Finn O’Sullivan, who competes for the Oakleigh Chargers in the Coates Talent League, is also part of the Victoria Country squad. O’Sullivan last year won the Kevin Sheehan Medal as the Pool A best and fairest at the AFL National Development Championships – U16 Boys.

Geelong Falcons boys coach Paul Corrigan will again serve as head coach for Victoria Country.

The 2023 AFL National Championships – U18 Boys began earlier this month, with three matches played at Adelaide’s Thebarton Oval over the past fortnight.

WATCH: All matches in the 2023 AFL National Championships – U18 Boys will be live streamed on the AFL website.
