GOLD Coast has scored its maiden victory on Grand Final day with first-year key forward Ben King surging home to win the Anytime Fitness Grand Final sprint. 

Melbourne defender Sam Frost burst out to an early lead but King mowed him down in the second half of the 100m race.

It was a nailbiter for third place, but Geelong youngster Jake Tarca appeared to edge Richmond's Noah Balta.
