GEELONG is offering supporters a deal on tickets to encourage attendance at Friday night's clash against Carlton at Etihad Stadium.

The Cats will give supporters who buy three tickets before midday on Friday receive an extra ticket for free.

With Carlton out of form and languishing at the bottom of the ladder, the Cats – who have won three of the first seven games – hope their deal will attract more supporters to their only home game for the season at Etihad Stadium.

Geelong and Carlton average 39,251 spectators over 14 games at Etihad Stadium,  but both games played between the teams at the venue in 2014 attracted crowds below that average.

Despite the gloom, Carlton has attracted crowds above 50,000 in each of its three games against Victorian clubs in Victoria this season.

However, the Blues only attracted 16,676 to their home game at Etihad Stadium against Greater Western Sydney last Saturday.

Geelong has averaged 38,145 in its opening seven games this season and has played three home games at Simonds Stadium.
