GREATER Western Sydney has received a timely boost on the eve of the finals, with forward Daniel Lloyd and ruckman Dawson Simpson signing contract extensions.

Lloyd has inked a two-year deal that will see him remain a Giant until the end of 2019, while Simpson has penned a one-year deal until the end of next season.

Giants football manager Wayne Campbell acknowledged the duo's commitment to the club on Monday night.

"Daniel and Dawson have both played important roles for us this year and we’re thrilled to have them put pen to paper," Campbell told gwsgiants.com.au.

"Both have unique stories in how they've got to this stage and have shown terrific resilience and dedication over the years.

"The playing group has bought into the direction we're heading as a club and the re-signing of Daniel and Dawson is a strong endorsement of this."

Lloyd, 25, is a remarkable story of persistence after being selected with pick No.26 in the 2015 NAB AFL Rookie Draft from the Killarney Vale Bombers on the New South Wales central coast.

He bided his time in the NEAFL and made his hard-earned Giants debut in round eight this season against Collingwood, before going on to play a further six games.

Meanwhile, Simpson, 28, has played two games for the Giants this season, including his club debut against Fremantle round 19.

The 210cm ruckman, who joined the club as an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2015, spent five seasons at Geelong from 2010, where he tallied 28 matches.

Lloyd and Simpson are the latest Giants to recommit following in-demand midfielder Jacob Hopper, who signed a two-year deal on Saturday until the end of 2019.

Fourth-placed Greater Western Sydney takes on Adelaide in Thursday night's qualifying final at Adelaide Oval.
