The Taste of Footy precinct will be filled with some of Melbourne’s most iconic food, bites and beverages! Take a seat amongst all of the action, listen to the sounds and enjoy the incredible atmosphere.

Bearded Jaffle

The brain child of Melbourne Football Club’s Max Gawn, who wanted to share his love of humble, honest food. The almighty jaffle, a staple of many 90’s kids upbringing. That’s what we’re about. Showcasing the best ingredients from super local sources.

Bluebonnet BBQ

Taught by BBQ heavyweight Tom Micklethwaite and Evan LeRoy out of Micklethwait Craft Meats in Austin, Texas. Chef Chris Terlikar has made a name for Bluebonnet by developing a distinctive barbecue style which tips its hat to the thriving U.S. inspired food scene.


Yo-get-it is Australia’s original frozen yoghurt business. Create your own delicious masterpiece with Yo-get-it’s self-serve frozen yoghurt. Firstly you get to choose from 6-8 froyo flavours that you will find in-store at any one time. Next move to our massive topping bar, where you will find everything from decadent sweet treats, right through to nourishing sprinkles

Yak Brewing

Yak Brewing will be rolling in their Yaks Float to bring the herd to the MCG and serve some of Australia’s favourite beers including Australia’s favourite Fat Yak, the Original Pale Ale, Wild Yak, Lazy Yak, Lumber Yak and Rusty Yak.

Jim Beam

This year Jim Beam, the world’s no.1 bourbon, will be serving a selection of their famous drinks and giving away a double pass to the 2019 AFL Grand Final as well as other great prizes. Catch them directly opposite the main stage where they will have a double story bar providing perfect viewing of all the action across the weekend.

What's On

Day 1 - Wednesday Sep 25th

Open from 10am until 6pm, experience the best of what Melbourne has to offer. Located in Yarra Park outside Gate 3 of the MCG, the FREE event will feature giveaways, LOTS of fun things to do, music and street performances and some of Melbourne’s most iconic food trucks.

Also, have a run around in the MILO Kids Zone and race your friends through the giant inflatable obstacle course. Amongst a number of AFL player appearances around the site, there will be signing sessions from 11:00am and 2:00pm on the main stage.

Day 2 - Thursday Sep 26th

The second day of the 2019 AFL Footy Festival will be back again bigger than ever! Open from 10am until 6pm, the AFL Live Site again will deliver a whole lot of fun for kids of all ages! Make sure you grab yourself a bite to eat from the likes of Biggie Smalls and the Bearded Jaffle, visit the player signing sessions from 11:00am and 2:00pm and experience everything the AFL has to offer.

Chill out on the lawns outside the main stage and listen to sounds of the game or try your luck at a number of fan experience activations around the site.

Day 3 - Friday Sep 27th

Open from 9:00am, all things are a go within 2019 AFL Footy Festival. Get down early to secure your position outside the main stage as the 2019 AFL Grand Final Parade is set to culminate at Yarra Park.

See this year’s 2019 AFL Grand Final teams up close and personal before their big game and be sure to stick around after to witness this year’s AFL GF Eve Concert.

Day 4 - Saturday Sep 28th

The big day sees the site open from 9am. With large crowds expected, get down to the 2019 AFL live Site to be a part of the AFL’s big day. With the atmosphere at an all-time high, what better place to be than at Yarra Park cheering home your club!

Grab a bite to eat, sit back with your family or friends and watch the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final LIVE on the big screens. There is also plenty to do for the kids with MILO Kids Zone and AFL Live Site offering loads of fun activities to keep them entertained.
