Lion Elliot Yeo has been offered a three-year deal by West Coast
BRISBANE Lions youngster Elliot Yeo is set to return home to Western Australia after being offered a three-year deal by West Coast.
Yeo's manager Colin Young confirmed the Eagles' interest in Yeo and was hopeful the deal would be formalised when the Gillette AFL Trade period begins on Monday.
"Everyone's quietly confident before Monday starts but things change rapidly come Monday morning," Young told AFL.com.au's Gillette Trade Radio.
"I think Brisbane still want to have one more chat to Elliot before he makes his final decision.
"I'll catch up with Elliot on Monday morning back in Perth and I'm hopeful the deal will get done quickly."
Young insisted Yeo didn't have an issue with the direction of the Lions, saying he wanted to be closer to family and friends in Perth.
Yeo was taken by the Lions with pick No.30 at the 2011 draft and played 19 games this year, averaging 15 disposals a game.
"He only made his decision at the end of the year…he actually was quite comfortable with where the club was at," Young said.
"When I caught up with him he'd been home for two or three weeks, his body language and persona was quite relaxed, he just felt comfortable being at home.
"One of the biggest issues is that when you're interstate you lose a lot of contact with your friends from day to day and your whole life's quite insular around the club."
Yeo is set to spark an exodus from the Lions with teammates Patrick Karnezis, Billy Longer, Sam Docherty and Jared Polec all flagging their intention to return their home states.
All were drafted inside the top 30 at their respective NAB AFL Drafts.
