YOUNGSTER Nick Joyce is the unlucky player who has lost his place on Adelaide's list as a result of the Kurt Tippett saga.

Tippett walked out on the Crows at the end of the season, but his path to his desired club the Sydney Swans has been held up by revelations of alleged third-party payments.

The key forward's decision to enter the pre-season draft - rather than the NAB AFL Draft - meant he was still on Adelaide's list as of Thursday's second list lodgement deadline.

As a result, the Crows were forced to delist a contracted player to make room for the required three picks at next week's draft on the Gold Coast.

Adelaide list manager David Noble said the club intended to re-draft Joyce but, given it could be stripped of early picks by the AFL Commission at Monday's hearing into the Tippett affair, there is a risk the teenager could be snapped up by another team.

"The club is working closely with Nick's management and discussing the variety of options, with Nick's welfare being of the highest importance," Noble said.

2012 retirements and delistings

Joyce was a well-liked member of the squad, having been drafted by the Crows at pick No.46 at last year's NAB AFL Draft having previously served as the club's mascot and junior development officer.

Alongside Joyce, 12 other players were officially delisted ahead of Thursday's second list lodgement deadline.

Fremantle cut Jesse Crichton, Nick Lower and Dylan Roberton, although both Lower and Crichton will continue to train with the club.

North Melbourne removed Cameron Richardson from its senior list with a year to run on his contract, but has committed to re-selecting the young half-back in the rookie draft.

All other departures had already been announced, with Essendon delisting Ricky Dyson, Brent Prismall and Ariel Steinberg, Greater Western Sydney cutting Dean Brogan to make room for the possible recruitment of Tippett, and Western Bulldog Zeph Skinner and Melbourne's Clint Bartram retiring.

Port Adelaide's Ben Jacobs and Gold Coast's Taylor Hine have both walked out on their clubs, and will enter the draft hoping to be picked up by the Kangaroos.

The third and final list lodgement is due on November 29, ahead of the pre-season draft in December.
