Kane Tenace joined an exclusive group on Sunday, becoming just the 126th player in AFL history to boot a goal with his first kick in league football. Tenace goaled early in the first quarter to join 13 other Geelong players that have goaled with their first kick.

Cats’ defender Tom Harley also has the distinction of goaling with his first kick, a feat he achieved in his only game with Port Adelaide before coming to Skilled Stadium.

Other players that have achieved the feat include John Coleman, Jason Dunstall, Tom Hafey, Stephen Kernahan, Tony Lockett, Matthew Lloyd, Leigh Matthews, Matthew Pavlich, Des Headland, Spider Everitt and Ted Whitten.

Tenace, who was drafted by the Cats with the seventh pick in the 2003 national draft, was the 993rd player to represent Geelong in a senior game.
