Contact between North Melbourne’s Michael Firrito and Port Adelaide’s Jarman Impey from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Impey had the ball and was running forward towards his team’s goals. The Port Adelaide player had evaded two opponents and Firrito was coming towards him, when Impey sought to change direction. Impey lowered his body to try and evade Firrito and high contact was made to Impey with Firrito’s chest area. The Port Adelaide player was paid a free kick at the time and was immediately able to take his kick. It was the panel’s view there was insufficient force in the high contact made to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
