WEST Coast will field an inexperienced side against the Indigenous All Stars on Friday night at Medibank Stadium in Perth.

The Eagles have a relatively healthy list to choose from with only Scott Selwood, Jack Darling, Mark Hutchings and Beau Waters definitively ruled out due to injury.

But coach Adam Simpson indicated on Tuesday that a number of senior players would miss the game.

Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis is being rested. Captain Shannon Hurn and vice-captain Josh Kennedy are also likely to miss, with Simpson declaring Chris Masten would skipper the side.

"We're going to play some kids," Simpson said.

"We won't be playing a full strength side, but there'll be enough senior players there to show some experience. We anticipate it will be a pretty high running game."

Nic Naitanui will be named in the squad of 30 and the star ruckman trained fully on Tuesday, although Simpson wouldn’t guarantee him a spot for Friday night.

"We'll see how we go today," Simpson said. "We'll finalise that this afternoon."

Simpson said that Eagles forward Josh Hill would likely play for the All Stars. However, Sharrod Wellingham, who trained with the All Stars on Monday will line up for West Coast. Simpson said he was excited about what Wellingham might deliver.

"We're keen to see how he goes," Simpson said.

"He's had a really good block of pre-season. He's really bought in to what we're trying to do and I expect big things from him."

Simpson confirmed that new draftee Jackson Nelson would likely make his debut for the club while Irishman Paddy Brophy and former baseballer Corey Adamson are also in the frame to make their first appearance for West Coast.

Rookie Murray Newman is no guarantee to play, following a troubled 2014 where he spent time in jail after being convicted of grievous bodily harm. Despite doing a power of work in the off-season, Newman has suffered a couple of injury setbacks during pre-season training.

"We'll see how he goes," Simpson said.

"He's had an interrupted pre-season. I don't want to throw him in the deep end. But he's progressing well."

All Stars coach Andy Lovell admitted his team wouldn't have a typical structure on game day, but said he was blessed for pace stocks.

"Structurally we're probably going to be pretty short. but we've still got a couple of boys we can play as rucks and key forwards and defenders," Lovell said.

"At this point Jonathon Griffin can play ruck.

"Curtly Hampton might have to play above his height a little bit to give us a chop-out as a key defender.

"It's fair to say we'll probably go a small forward line."

Lovell will be embracing individual flair this week, and hopes the move will pay off against the Eagles.

"You tend not to be able to play as instinctively as you would like as an individual player in an AFL team, so that's something we won't stifle," he said.

"We'll encourage it.

"The boys are here to win.

"They're competitive beasts and they want to win. We hope to give West Coast a good run for their money."
