SYDNEY and Essendon have made no late changes for Friday night's critical clash at the SCG.

Both sides suffered a blow at selection on Thursday night with the Swans unable to name superstar forward Lance Franklin for the third straight week because of his hamstring injury, while gun Bomber Joe Daniher was rested.

The visitors will be boosted by the return of exciting forward Orazio Fantasia for the encounter, and big-bodied midfielder David Myers is another important inclusion for John Worsfold's side.

Swans defender Colin O'Riordan was rewarded for his outstanding NEAFL form when he was recalled for his second game of 2019, with the Irishman a direct swap for the injured Harry Cunningham (adductor).

A loss would put a line through Sydney's less than slim finals hopes this season, while the Bombers need to respond after two consecutive losses and must take the points back to Melbourne.
