FREMANTLE wingman Bradley Hill says speculation he wants to return to Hawthorn is "just rumours".

Hill played in three premierships with the Hawks before joining his brother Stephen at the Dockers at the end of 2016.

Speculation surfaced at the end of last year the 25-year-old requested a trade back to Waverley, and a report suggests he is weighing up asking for a move at the end of 2019.

I've seen the articles. All those rumours, like I said they're just rumours - Bradley Hill

"The rumours that you heard about Hawthorn are just rumours," Hill told 6PR.

"I love my teammates and I'm just focused on playing good footy with them and hopeful we can play finals this year.

"I've seen the articles. All those rumours, like I said they're just rumours."

Hill, who is contracted at Freo until 2021 and in career-best form, denied he wanted more money and that his partner was eager for them to move back to Victoria.

"We haven't really had that chat. Obviously, she gets homesick every now and then but she does spend a fair bit of time back home in Melbourne," Hill said.

"But she hasn't come up to me and said 'we need to go home'."

Speaking after last Saturday's fighting loss to Melbourne, coach Ross Lyon dismissed speculation Hill had requested a move last year.

"As always, it's inaccurate. There was no request for a trade last year," Lyon said.

"There are a lot of back stories to everything that gets reported.

"There are a lot of stakeholders that are involved in contracted and uncontracted players, there are other clubs, there are other clubs' accumulated money, there are player managers who play a big part.

"When you're on the inside, is roll your eyes the right thing? No, it's just part of the industry."

Hill is averaging 24.8 disposals this season and is in contention for All Australian honours.

His brother Stephen is an unrestricted free agent this year and is being targeted by Gold Coast.

The future of Fremantle's other hard-running wingman, Ed Langdon, is clouded with AFL.com.au reporting the Victorian has put contract talks on hold until the end of the year.

Emerging players Connor Blakely, Darcy Tucker and Griffin Logue are among those also uncontracted.

Veteran midfielder David Mundy appears a strong chance to play on for a 16th campaign, while injury-plagued Harley Bennell's hopes of a new deal are uncertain after a potentially season-ending calf setback.
