CARLTON'S prized draftee Liam Stocker will be unveiled in his first match against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

Rated by the Blues as the sixth-best player in last year's NAB AFL Draft, Stocker's availability at pick 19 triggered a live trade with Adelaide where both clubs swapped future first-round selections.

Stocker will be one of a minimum four forced changes from the side that lost to Hawthorn, with Charlie Curnow another confirmed starter after getting through Friday's training unscathed.

"It's a great opportunity for him and a great chance for our defenders who I think have been working really well as a unit to give 'Stocks' a go at half back and possibly through the midfield as well," coach Brendon Bolton said.

Matthew Kreuzer (adductor), Mitch McGovern (hamstring), Nic Newman (knee) and Kade Simpson (hamstring) all go out through injury.

Bolton wouldn't be drawn on Kreuzer's replacement, with big men Matthew Lobbe and Andrew Phillips added to the squad of 26 that will be trimmed to 22 at 5pm on Friday.

Will Setterfield, Jarrod Garlett, Tom Williamson and potential debutant Angus Schumacher are also in the mix to play against the Roos.

Bolton said Ed Curnow would be considered for a stopping role on one of the Roos' experienced midfielders in game 150 after he was thrown to Hawk Jaeger O'Meara last week.

The veteran was used as a permanent forward through the pre-season and in his first five matches this year.

"If required in-game is probably what we'll do," Bolton said on Curnow's tagging capabilities.

"It won't always be Ed, we think we've got a couple who can do it, but Ed's got the background and experience if required on a mature player.

"We want to start Ed as a forward, we think he's played a really good role for us as a forward this year.

"That's where we see Ed at the moment, but that's not to say if we really need him to tag, we can go back to it."
