The rebel VFLW teams for Round 8.
Collingwood AFLW foundation player and Lisa Hardeman medallist Stacey Livingstone will play her first game for Sandringham when the Zebras host Carlton at Wilson Storage Trevor Barker Beach Oval.
Livingstone, who played 77 AFLW games for the Magpies before retiring at the conclusion of the 2024 NAB AFLW Season, joined the Zebras this week and has been rushed straight in for the must-win game against the Blues.
She also played 21 VFLW games for the Magpies and claimed the Lisa Hardeman Medal as the best player on the ground in the club’s 2019 rebel VFLW Grand Final triumph.
Darebin Falcons have lost Lulu Beatty for their trip to take on the Box Hill Hawks after she was added to Richmond’s AFLW program earlier this week. The Hawks have included Bec Neaves among four changes, with Rosie Dillon and Miz Kendell both set to miss.
Christina Bernardi is one of five exclusions for Essendon for its battle against Collingwood at the AIA Vitality Centre. Bernardi, who was instrumental in the Bombers big win over the Magpies in Round 2, will miss with a quad injury.
However, Essendon will unveil new recruit Grace Brooker for her first game in the red and black. The former New Zealand rugby representative, who was the 214th player to be capped for the Black Ferns, joined the Bombers in March as the club’s first AFLW rookie signing.
Casey Demons have lost key trio Jo Lin, Ella Morris and Mackenzie Williams for their clash with Williamstown at Casey Fields. The Seagulls regain Neve Crowley for her first game since Round 5 among three changes.
The Western Bulldogs and Port Melbourne have each made four changes as they look to return to the winners list in an important clash at Mission Whitten Oval.
The Bulldogs have managed AFLW-listed duo Britney Gutknecht and Sarah Poustie, but have included 60-gamer Naomi Ferres, while the Borough have named Madeleine Patterson for her first game of the season, following ten games in 2024.
North Melbourne-Werribee has recalled Jemmika Douglas and Taylor Ortlepp when it hosts Geelong at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval.
It will be a landmark day for the reigning premiers, who host their first game at the venue sign commencing an alignment with Werribee at the beginning of this season.
