FREMANTLE fans are no longer buying what Ross Lyon is selling.

Giving their verdict on a tumultuous campaign in an AFL.com.au survey, only a third of Dockers supporters said they were happy with the coach.

It's the first time Lyon's approval rating has dropped below 50 per cent, halving from 67 per cent this time last year.

The breaking point for many fans was round 22's trip to Geelong, when Freo led at quarter time before conceding 23 unanswered goals en route to a 133-point hiding.

Alongside Andrew Gaff's derby hit on Andrew Brayshaw, fans frequently cited that club record loss as their moment to forget from a season that returned eight wins and a 14th-place finish.

Forward line woes plagued the Dockers, and while fans were encouraged by Matt Taberner's form before his foot injury, Cam McCarthy was overwhelmingly judged the side's biggest flop.

Here are the full survey results, plus a selection of Fremantle fans' highlights and lowlights.

What was the moment you'll remember?

Michael Walters' mark over Jeremy McGovern. A mark so good, it left the defender smiling.
- Liam Coulthard, Hoppers Crossing Vic

The first win at our new home against the Bombers, when Taberner showed he could be the answer as the key forward we're crying out for.
- Jonathon Turle, Daglish WA

The work of our youngsters in both derbies (before the ugly [Brayshaw] incident).
- David Graham, Perth WA

Nat Fyfe's one-man show against the Doggies. He dominated with 43 possessions, a handful of clearances and a goal.
- Mohsin Iqbal, Adelaide SA

Surprisingly, the last game against Collingwood. They looked lively, but it was far too late to give supporters a glimmer of hope. Game plan?
- Christine Jancec, Bicton WA

What was the moment you'd rather forget?

The injuries to Fyfe and Taberner. Fyfe's may have cost him a second Brownlow and Taberner had started to show promise as a key forward.
- Harry Playford, Perth WA

The disaster vs Geelong. Heads should roll. Do these kids even want to play footy? Compare McCarthy's second efforts to those of Buddy.
- Nate Webb, Landsdale WA

The drubbing against Geelong materially changed my view on Ross Lyon. A coach should have been able to do something to stem the flow.
- Stephen Tower, Glenelg SA

Watching what happened to Andrew Brayshaw. Couldn't have happened to a more undeserving player.
- Ryan Mclauchlan, Success WA
