KEY FOCUS OF THIS POSITION (Why this job exists):
To drive, enhance and promote the value of Umpires within the WA Football Community by leading the strategic direction, development and delivery of junior umpiring within the Junior metropolitan football structures of Western Australia.
Primary responsibilities include:

Provide oversight and management of Junior Umpiring Conference Coordinators and Umpiring Club Coordinators.

Lead the professional development of Junior Umpiring employees and volunteers through mentoring, training and performance feedback.

Develop and implement key junior umpiring programs and initiatives.

Drive long-term strategy, development of initiatives and broader program focus in junior football.

Promote umpiring through marketing and recognition initiatives.

Provide input into the strategic direction of umpiring at community level.

Commit to building positive relationships with all stakeholders whilst actively promoting the game and umpiring throughout the community.

Contribute to the positive promotion of umpiring in Western Australia.

Maintain and operate within the community umpiring budget.
Required skills and experience:

Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience (E)

Ability to interact confidently with groups of participants and stakeholders (E)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (E)

Excellent interpersonal, team work and relationship building skills (E)

Ability to work outside of normal hours (E)

Sound understanding of the Junior Umpiring system in Western Australia (D)

Sound knowledge of Umpire Coaching philosophies and strategies (D)
