Another pair of premiership teammates will reunite for the 2026 AAMI AFL Origin match, as the AFL today confirmed seven additional selections for Western Australia.

Callum Ah Chee and Brandon Starcevich, who played in the Brisbane Lions’ back-to-back premiership triumphs, will both pull on the ‘Black Swan’ on Saturday, 14 February at Optus Stadium following off-season moves to the Adelaide Crows and West Coast Eagles respectively.

They will be joined in the Western Australian squad by Port Adelaide’s Mitch Georgiades, the Geelong Cats’ Lawson Humphries, Western Bulldogs’ Rory Lobb, Melbourne’s Trent Rivers and Gold Coast SUNS’ Wil Powell, bringing the squad total to 21 players.

Former Adelaide Crows captain and current assistant coach Nathan van Berlo has also been added to the Western Australian coaching panel, joining Sydney Swans senior coach Dean Cox, who will lead the team, and Fremantle senior coach Justin Longmuir, who will serve as Cox’s assistant along with van Berlo.

The latest selections follow last week’s announcement of nine players, including former Melbourne premiership teammates Luke Jackson and Kysaiah Pickett. They also included West Coast’s Liam Baker, who will have the opportunity to play alongside former Richmond premiership teammate Shai Bolton, and Ah Chee and Starcevich’s former Brisbane premiership teammate Charlie Cameron.

The remaining squad members for Western Australia will be announced early next year as the highly anticipated return of Origin football draws closer.

In 2026, AAMI AFL Origin will be delivered with the support of the Western Australian Government, through Tourism WA, and showcase the best of the state to fans all over the country.

The 2026 AAMI AFL Origin match will be broadcast on Seven Network and Foxtel, as well as 7plus and Kayo streaming platforms, spotlighting Perth and its world-class sporting facilities to the rest of the nation.

The match will begin at 4.40pm AWST / 7.40pm AEDT with tickets now on sale! For more information, head to Origin.AFL
