The Integrity Investigation Specialist is responsible for the operational delivery of integrity investigations and complaint management across WA Football, within delegated authority. The role supports the Integrity Unit by conducting impartial, evidence-based investigations, managing integrity matters from intake through to findings and recommendations and supporting risk-based triage and serious incident responses.

The position operates in accordance with WA Football Integrity Unit SOPs, AFL National Integrity Frameworks, relevant legislation and organisational governance requirements.

 

Key Job Criteria:

  • Assist in conducting game-related integrity investigations in accordance with WA Football Integrity Unit SOPs.
  • In consultation with the Integrity Manager, support the operation of the Integrity Steering Committee.
  • Provide operational integrity advice and support to WA Football business units on game-day and off-field integrity matters.
  • Provide guidance and advice regarding vilification, member protection, child safeguarding, gambling-related matters and umpire abuse.
  • Prepare investigation documentation, summaries and recommendations as required
  • Support WA Football business units and affiliate leagues in the development and maintenance of online integrity education content.

 

Experience required to undertake the position: (Essential or Desirable)

  • Demonstrated experience in investigations, complaint handling, compliance, integrity, governance or regulatory environments (E)
  • Experience applying procedural fairness and managing sensitive or confidential matters (E)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (E)
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders and manage conflict constructively (E)
  • Experience in sport integrity, safeguarding, law enforcement, legal, regulatory or community governance environments (D)
  • Understanding of child safeguarding and mandatory reporting obligations (D)
  • Training in investigation techniques or trauma-informed practice (D)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent (D)Tertiary qualifications in law, criminology, governance, education or a related discipline (D)
