CONTRACT talks with Jake Lever and Mitch McGovern are ongoing, but Adelaide coach Don Pyke is sick of taking the focus off his club's premiership push.

The ladder-leading Crows can wrap up their first minor premiership since 2005 with a win against West Coast at Domain Stadium on Sunday.

But all the talk has been about the futures of off-contract duo Lever and McGovern, who are yet to re-sign with the club beyond this season.

"The contract side of things, the last couple of weeks, we've sort of moved on," Pyke said.

"If we've got something to announce, we'll announce it.

"Otherwise, our focus is clearly on playing games of footy and winning games of footy in what is a really exciting time of the year for us."

Lever has pulled out of a pre-existing media commitment for the rest of the year after denying reports he met with Melbourne officials, while McGovern has been linked with a return to WA.

"To continue to speculate on it doesn't help us and doesn't help the players," Pyke said.

"Those discussions are ongoing and if there is anything to report or announce, then we will."

Crows defender Daniel Talia will be named to face West Coast at Domain Stadium on Sunday despite struggling with an ankle injury.

Talia will have to complete an extra training session on Friday morning to prove his fitness.

"He did a little bit this morning," Pyke said.

"He'll do a bit more tomorrow and then we'll assess him from there.

"It's a matter of how it settles down and how comfortable he is and how restricted his movement might be."

Crows captain Taylor Walker (toe) and vice-captain Rory Sloane (knee) both trained on Thursday.

The Crows are guaranteed to finish in the top two and will host a home qualifying final.

If they win that, they will then have another bye before hosting a preliminary final.

Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson believes the pre-finals bye disadvantages the top-four teams after seeing Greater Western Sydney and Geelong fail to reach the Grand Final last year after winning qualifying finals.

"I can see where he's coming from with that statement based on what happened last year," Pyke said.

"It's only one year in with the bye so we need a little bit more sample size to see how that works.

"Like all rule changes, clubs will adapt and last year was unusual because you had two clubs that won in the first week of the finals and either made the grand final,

"Some of the sides who had that last year would approach it differently and try and avoid that circumstance.

"That's something we would take into account with the scheduling."
