ALANNAH Welsh put her name up in lights with an electric five-goal haul against West Coast on Sunday, with the Gold Coast second-gamer's performance recognised with the round two Telstra Rising Star nomination.
While a number of Suns young guns put on impressive performances in the 35-point win over the Eagles, Welsh was the pick of the bunch with her eye-catching display.
Heading to the Suns with pick no.12 in 2025's draft, Welsh is part of the draft haul that also netted the Suns Ava Usher, Sunny Lappin, Georja Davies, Mikayla Nurse, Dekota Baron, Bronte Parker and Rhiannon Ingram.
A graduate of the Suns' academy, Welsh plied her trade for Southport in the QAFLW before joining Gold Coast, and played her junior footy for Burleigh.
