LOGAN Morris is on the verge of signing a two-year contract extension with Brisbane.
Already contracted for next year, the new deal would tie him to the Lions until at least the end of 2029.
AFL.com.au revealed last week the 21-year-old was keen to open talks with the club, and things have progressed quickly, with the young star hoping to wrap up negotiations before season’s end.
"There's no point of just dragging it out if I know what I'm doing,” Morris said.
"I know I want to stay at the club. I want to play my footy here, and I'm happy where I am.
"I just come in this club every day with a smile on my face, knowing that I can have fun, but also get to work, and it's fun playing in a team that is playing for each other.”
His signature comes just a week after in-demand free agent Zac Bailey turned his back on a mega offer from Adelaide to remain with the two-time premiers.
Morris was set to be one of the biggest name players out of contract in 2027, with clubs from his home state of Victoria queueing up for his services.
The contract is believed to be around $900,000 a season.
“I don't want to leave a team where I'm happy where I am mentally, and have a good group of mates, so I guess I feel like that's more valuable than a bit more money to me,” he said.
“I think playing with a good team that's got good values and playing with all my mates is more valuable to me than a bit more money. So that's what it ultimately come down to.”
The No.31 pick from the 2023 AFL Draft has had an incredible first three seasons in the big time, winning two flags and being named an All-Australian for the first time this year.
He has kicked 67 goals this year to trail only Sydney’s Charlie Curnow (74).
