Izak Rankine finished the season in brilliant style to poll 11 votes in the last four rounds, overtaking teammate Jordan Dawson to lead the Crows with a total of 25 votes. The brilliant midfielder had six best-on-ground games in a strong season, while Dawson had four and finished on 21 votes after polling 27 last year. Sam Berry (10) attracted some votes after taking a big step in his career, while ruckman Lachie McAndrew secured the first vote of his career after a strong season as the Crows' No.1 big man.

As expected, Will Ashcroft (27) was the Lions' leading vote-getter, storming home with a withering burst in the second half of the season. Ashcroft polled in eight of his final 10 games to grab an equal fifth place finish alongside Patrick Cripps and Harry Sheezel. Two-time winner Lachie Neale again got the umpires' attention to finish with 20 votes, while ineligible the Zac Bailey was next on 13. All Australian Logan Morris was adjudged best afield on two occasions – for his seven goals against Gold Coast and eight against Collingwood.

Like his team, it was a slow start to 2026 for Patrick Cripps, but by the end of the night, the two-time winner had earned himself an equal fifth place with 27 votes. Cripps had two votes through eight rounds but stormed home by polling in 11 of his final 15 appearances. Sam Walsh (14) and George Hewett (13) were next in-line, while Rising Star winner Jagga Smith capped a brilliant first season on the field with 12 votes. Harry Dean snared his first career vote in the round 16 win over West Coast.

What can you write about Nick Daicos that hasn't already been written? His record-breaking 47 votes accounted for almost two thirds of the Magpies' entire total, with Jordan De Goey his nearest teammate on just eight votes. Scott Pendlebury was the only other player to earn a best on ground for his extraordinary Anzac Day performance. In fact, Daicos polling in 18 games was more than the rest of his teammates combined, who polled in 17.

In a tough season for the Bombers, star midfielder Zach Merrett was their leading vote-getter with nine, including a best-on-ground performance against Greater Western Sydney in round 19. Darcy Parish earned six votes, including three when he won the Yiooken Award in the Dreamtime at the 'G loss to Richmond in round 11. Sam Durham landed four votes, while young guns Dyson Sharp, Nate Caddy and Archie Roberts all earned votes.

Luke Jackson was the Dockers' leading vote-getter with 19 in a deep field of players who highlighted the even nature of Freo's team. Shai Bolton was prominent on the leaderboard after polling 13 votes in 11 rounds, but he slipped thereafter. Second-year star Murphy Reid (15) had four best-on-ground games, while the selfless roles Caleb Serong (14) and Andrew Brayshaw (nine) have played saw their numbers slip. Wingman Matt Johnson got his first career votes for a brilliant Western Derby performance in round 20.

Bailey Smith entered the night as one of the leading Brownlow Medal contenders and finished second overall with 36 votes, setting a Geelong single-season record. He was a clear standout for the Cats, whose votes were spread across several contributors. Max Holmes finished second with 10 votes despite missing the final five home-and-away matches, while Shaun Mannagh polled nine. Lawson Humphries also celebrated his first Brownlow votes after polling two in round 11.

Christian Petracca burst from the blocks with two best on ground performances in his first two games and four three-voters in his first six, but it would generally be a long night for the Suns. 'Trac' ended up with 15 votes to finish alongside skipper Noah Anderson on the same number. Last year's winner Matt Rowell (12) was hampered by injury for much of the season before finishing strongly. Best and fairest winner Bodhi Uwland got one vote, the same number as his little brother Zeke, who polled for his 32 disposals against Collingwood in round 17.

Clayton Oliver exceeded expectations throughout the count, finishing eighth overall with 23 votes to comfortably top Greater Western Sydney's leaderboard. Toby Greene and Finn Callaghan were the Giants' next-best performers with 10 votes each, while Greene surpassed 100 career Brownlow votes after polling in six games. Phoenix Gothard celebrated his first Brownlow votes with a three-vote performance in round 11, while Harvey Thomas also earned his first career vote in round 12.

For a team that fell just short of a Grand Final, Hawthorn's leading vote-getter - Jai Newcombe on 21 votes - was relatively low, but it reflected the even spread across the club this season. A total of 14 players picked up at least one vote, but Connor McDonald (11) was the only player apart from Newcombe to hit double figures. Nick Watson only getting nine votes in an extraordinary season is somewhat of a shock, but they don't call it the midfielders' medal for nothing.

As expected, Max Gawn led Melbourne's Brownlow Medal tally with 28 votes, finishing fourth overall in this year's count. It was a big night for the Demons skipper with his 28 votes a career-best haul, while he is now Melbourne's all-time leading Brownlow Medal vote-getter (152 career votes), overtaking Robbie Flower. Kysaiah Pickett was next in line with 20 votes, including five best-on-ground performances, while newly re-signed Demon Tom Sparrow collected 12 votes. Young gun Harvey Langford polled the first Brownlow votes of his career with a three-vote game against Brisbane in round six.

It was a huge night for Harry Sheezel, who capped a fine individual season by finishing equal fifth with 27 votes. The midfielder earned five best-on-ground performances, including three straight between rounds 14 and 16. His 27 votes was just shy of the 28 he managed in total in his first three seasons. But only one other Roo managed to hit double figures, with Luke Davies-Uniacke polling 19 votes. Another nine Roos landed votes, including veteran Luke Parker with six.

Zak Butters was the only player to have more votes than Daicos after any round on Monday night, briefly leading at round 10 with 17 votes. The midfielder polled better than expected to finish with 26 in the third best result of his career. The ineligible Jason Horne-Francis (22) drew the bulk of the Power's other votes, with Jase Burgoyne securing the only other three-vote game outside of Butters and Horne-Francis in round 24. Ruckman Jordan Sweet got the first vote of his career.

It was a familiar story for the Tigers as Tim Taranto led the club's votes for a fourth straight year. The midfielder polled in seven games for a total of 10 votes for the season. Jack Ross enjoyed a Brownlow breakthrough at the ripe old age of 26, collecting his first ever votes - in rounds eight and 22 - to finish with three, while Noah Balta and Sam Lalor (one vote apiece) were the only other Tigers to poll votes in 2026.

He didn't poll in the first month, but Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera eventually got going and finished with 21 votes to sit just outside the top 10 – not bad for a man that missed six games with injury. Emerging midfield star Max Hall (12) was awarded three votes on two occasions, while co-captain Cal Wilkie proved defenders can get votes, being recognised in four different games and finishing with nine votes all up. Hugo Garcia also got two three-voters, while Liam Ryan can consider himself unlucky to miss out despite kicking five goals in a narrow loss to Sydney.

Isaac Heeney led Sydney's Brownlow charge, finishing equal sixth with 26 votes after a mid-season run of three consecutive best-on-ground performances. Errol Gulden wasn't far behind with 17 votes, boosted by five straight three-vote games to finish the season, while Brodie Grundy polled 16. Malcolm Rosas collected the first Brownlow votes of his career with three votes in round eight, while Riley Bice and Braeden Campbell also opened their accounts in rounds one and 24 respectively.

Harley Reid's rise in 2026 was reflected in the votes, with the 2026 club champion polling 15 to clearly lead the Eagles in his third season. The midfielder polled nine of a possible 12 votes in the Eagles' four wins, as well as three votes in the round eight loss to Richmond at Optus Stadium. Jake Waterman (six votes) and Elliot Yeo (four) were the only other Eagles to poll in multiple games, with defender Reuben Ginbey and pre-season recruit Milan Murdock landing the first votes of their careers.

Marcus Bontempelli again led the Bulldogs' Brownlow charge, finishing third overall with 34 votes after extending the record to 60 career three-vote games. Bontempelli reached 247 career votes, passing a host of stars to climb into third place on the all-time list, behind only Gary Ablett jnr and Patrick Dangerfield on 262. The captain remained in contention throughout the count and surpassed 30 votes for the second time in his career. Ed Richards was the Bulldogs' next-best performer with 16 votes from 22 games, underlining his outstanding season and emergence as one of the game's most influential midfielders.
