THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting opportunity to join our AFL program and turn performance data into clear, actionable insights. Working closely with coaches and key stakeholders, you’ll help enhance decision-making, strengthen player feedback and contribute to the continued evolution of our high-performance environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in implementing and maintaining robust analysis procedures for collecting and sharing crucial data related to key performance indicators (KPIs) and Game Plan requirements, encompassing both training sessions and matches.
- Deliver Opposition Analysis weekly during Home & Away and Finals to specific coaches
- Contribute to the ongoing monitoring of databases to store and interrogate performance data in order to improve understanding of the key determinants of success.
- Engage in departmental data analysis initiatives and deliver weekly reports and data visualizations based on pertinent data sources and performance analysis tools.
- Utilize presentation tools to elevate feedback and enhance the learning experience.
- Supporting the coordination of the Analysis internship program, ensuring that interns are prepared to handle daily tasks and projects that yield actionable insights
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a sports or data related field
- 2+ years’ experience working in a Performance Analysis role in elite sport is desirable
- Experienced statistical background
- Advanced computer and data skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as extended hours and weekend work will be required for this role.
