NORTH Melbourne has landed Sydney star Nick Blakey after agreeing to a trade with the Swans, according to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.

An All-Australian in 2024, Blakey joins the Roos in a complex deal that will see the Swans land three extra picks, including the No.6 selection this year.

The Swans have also picked up North's first-round pick in 2028 as well as their second-round pick in 2027, while the two clubs have swapped second-round picks this year and in 2028.

Discounting the second rounders this year and in 2028 that have changed hands, the deal is essentially Blakey in exchange for pick 6, a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick.

The Roos are now set to turn their attention to their pursuit of Adelaide's Nick Murray.

AFL.com.au reported on Monday the Roos have put forward pick 33 and their first-round pick next season to the Crows for Murray.

As reported by AFL.com.au last week, North turned Blakey's head with a reported eight-year offer worth more than $11 million, before he toured Arden Street and completed a medical.

The dashing half-back's father John Blakey played 224 games for North Melbourne, including the Roos' 1996 and 1999 premierships.

Blakey was one of five Sydney players who served a club-imposed ban through the finals for breaching the Swans' behavioural standards at the Pullman Hotel in East Melbourne in August.

The players' punishment was separate to an ongoing Victoria Police investigation.
