TRAVIS Cloke wants Matthew Kreuzer's company at Collingwood.

The Carlton ruckman is out of contract at season's end and earlier this week refused to rule out a move away from the Blues.

"I actually get along pretty well with him and he's a good bloke," Cloke said on Thursday.

"He's an exceptional footballer.

"I guess we've probably forgot how good he is til the last couple of weeks, we've seen his worth, how valuable he is, to the Carlton Footy Club.

"I reckon if he was in black and white he'd be a 10 times better footballer."

But Cloke stopped short of offering to make a personal call to the 26-year-old.

"I'll leave it up to the powers that be here," Cloke said.

"I know the people at this footy club are pretty persuasive and pretty good at those things.

"I've been a part of a few of those phone calls before, and I reckon we've got a pretty good bunch of blokes at the top that make those calls."

Cloke also backed in coach Nathan Buckley to take the Magpies forward.

The former Pies captain, who replaced Mick Malthouse as part of a highly controversial transition plan, is out of contract at the end of next year.

"I think all contracts are talking points, I reckon I sat front row to see what it's all about," Cloke said.

"I'm 100 percent behind Bucks, I reckon he's a fantastic coach, (and a) fantastic person away from the footy.

"If I'm not his number one supporter then I don't know who is because I reckon he's fantastic for this footy club and also for myself as well."

Collingwood plays Geelong on Friday night at the MCG.
