COLLINGWOOD star Dane Swan has made his decision about whether he will retire or play on, with an announcement due in the coming week.
The 32-year-old has been tipped to retire.
Swan suffered three broken bones in his right foot in the round one clash against Sydney Swans, including a Lisfranc fracture.
It was the only game of his career that he did not have a possession.
The 2011 Brownlow medallist's contract expires at the end of the season, and the Magpies have said publicly that they want Swan to play on.
"I'm aware of what Swanny's going to do. We'll be able to let you know about what that looks like during the week," Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley said after the 71-point thrashing against Gold Coast.
"It's 50/50 I would've thought. It's either that (retirement) or it's not."

Exciting young forward Darcy Moore's year is over after he injured the same right hamstring that forced him out of the round 20 clash against Richmond.
Buckley said Travis Cloke loomed as the obvious replacement, in what could be the premiership player's final game for the Pies.
The 29-year-old has one year remaining on his contract but has been dropped on three occasions in 2016.
"He's performed really well over the last couple of weeks," Buckley said.
The coach had few concerns about bringing Cloke into a forward line that scored 38 times against the Suns.

"We've gone three talls/three smalls at times (in attack). We've gone two/four over the last couple of weeks, and I wouldn't expect that we'd go in one/five," Buckley said.
"We'll be looking for some aerial support, and Trav's kicked five and four (goals) in the last two weeks, so he's been pretty good.
"Mason (Cox) played today – I saw the first half – and he took a few good marks."
On Friday night, Buckley said he would be sacked if his side did not reach the finals in 2017. Pies president Eddie McGuire responded by saying Buckley shouldn't have answered the question.
Buckley said on Saturday that had not been a topic of conversation with McGuire.
"Saw Ed after the game, and we haven't addressed that," he said.
He does not believe the comments will affect how much scrutiny he comes under. Buckley's deal expires at the end of 2017.
"More pressure than there is? I wouldn't have thought so."
Jesse White stood up to register 3.4 in a display that saw him as the focal point in attack. The 28-year-old's future is another in limbo, with no contract announcement yet made by the club.
"His marking was probably as good as we've seen for a while – 10 marks, three contested. Had to play high game time because Darcy went down, and he's been really good for us chopping out in the ruck," the coach said.
"Clearly he's talented, and his best is really good, and he's continuing to battle getting the best out of himself more consistently, but over the last couple of years, he's been really good for us."
