Who's hanging up the boots? Keep track of 2017's retirements and delistings

JAKE Lever's manager Ned Guy will join Collingwood as its new list manager.

The Magpies confirmed the appointment of Guy on Wednesday as they restructured the recruiting department following a review of their football department.

The appointment comes as a shock as Guy manages Lever who requested a trade from Adelaide to Melbourne on Tuesday.

Melbourne is understood to be not concerned at the news as they begin what is expected to be drawn out negotiations with Adelaide to secure Lever.

Guy is an experienced player manager with McDonald Sports Management who has handled some of the game's big names such as Greater Western Sydney's Devon Smith, Sydney's Luke Parker, Adelaide duo Rory Sloane and Eddie Betts, Hawthorn's Jack Gunston, Gold Coast's Steven May and St Kilda's Seb Ross.

Respected for his industry nous, he is a coup for the Magpies as they look to beef up their recruiting department, which the review found was under-resourced compared to other clubs.

“Ned, through his 11 years in player management, holds a really strong understanding of the system, particularly in the areas of talent identification, management and the relationships required around that,” Collingwood football boss Geoff Walsh said.
