GREATER Western Sydney star Jess Dal Pos has had a slightly different off-season to most AFLW players.

While many have taken the break between AFLW and state league seasons to have a well-deserved holiday, Dal Pos travelled with the NSW Government to India.

Along with NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian, she visited St Columba Girls High School in Mumbai. Girls at the school recently started playing Australian Football.

AFLW CLUB AWARDS: All the winners from the 2018 season

Dal Pos, who has played all 14 games for the Giants in the two AFLW seasons and won the club's best and fairest award last year, conducted a clinic at the school alongside members of the Maharashtra Giants, the state side.

"AFL is a fast-paced team sport that requires dedication, training and a lot of team work, so I’m thrilled these young girls in India have the chance to play," Dal Pos said.

"I hope it inspires them to see that women can compete at the highest levels both on and off the field – and maybe come to Sydney to watch an AFLW match one day."

The India Bombers, a men's side, has played in four AFL International Cup tournaments since the competition started in 2008. The country is yet to send a women's side but is hoping to change that in the future.
