The fan favourite will play in Friday night's State of Origin Bushfire Relief match, with the Carlton forward named as a last-minute replacement for Dayne Zorko in the All-Stars' side.

Betts replaces Zorko, making the goalkicking great Carlton's second representative in the All-Stars' team alongside the club's superstar midfielder Patrick Cripps.

Zorko has a hamstring injury, sustained in Sunday’s Marsh Community Series defeat to the Power, with the Lions medics not comfortable with their skipper playing on the back of a five-day turnaround.

Having played 316 games and kicked 600 goals across a distinguished 15-year career with both Carlton and Adelaide, Betts is one of the League's most highly regarded players.

His inclusion for Friday night's game will mean he will be forced to withdraw from Carlton's Marsh Community Series clash with Fremantle in Mandurah on Saturday night.

Betts is the third late inclusion for Friday night's contest, with Andrew Gaff and Travis Boak already coming into the Victorian side in place of Ben Cunnington and Robbie Gray.
