ST KILDA captain Nick Riewoldt will play his 150th match against West Coast at Subiaco on Saturday, but the superstar Saint says his focus is firmly on the next stage of his career.
Riewoldt has played International Rules for Australia, is a two-time All-Australian, and three-time winner of his club's best-and-fairest award, but he had no hesitation in nominating the highlight of his career when speaking to saintscentral.com.au.
"Obviously playing in finals -- that's a huge achievement and honour to represent your club and play finals footy. But hopefully the biggest moment in my career is still to come."
While Riewoldt admits some regret that he will not be celebrating the milestone in front of a home crowd, he says the top priority remains the four points.
"At this stage of the year every game -- no matter where we're playing -- is really important. We've got some great momentum at the moment so it's very important for us to go over to West Coast... and hopefully bring home the points.
"They're the really enjoyable ones, when you travel away as a team to foreign soil and up against a hostile crown. When you can win those games, they're very memorable and enjoyable."
Riewoldt has been in stellar form over the past month, a run that has coincided with St Kilda's streak of four wins in a row. But the skipper was quick to point out that team accountability lay at the heart of the Saints' impressive form.
"The whole team is starting to really live and value what we set out to stand for at the start of the year. We're holding each other really accountable to those values and behaviours.
"Every week I think every player is going out with an expectation and an understanding of what they need to deliver for the team.
"I think it's very important to lead from the front and lead by example... the team has certain trade marks and actions we want to deliver on, and it is very important that the club's leaders are setting the example in that area."
