Steven Lawrence: Very much appreciated, and hopefully it's a big season for me and the whole team.
stevies_angel: Stevie, what do you like to do to relax?
Steven Lawrence: Spend time with my family, my nieces and nephews, and play a bit of golf.
stevies_angel: Stevie, thanks for chatting – I’m a big fan, do you have much time to do anything away from footy? How do you handle being in the public eye?
Steven Lawrence: Ten years down the track you become accustomed to it, you learn how to deal with the public and give them what they want, so it's okay.
stevies_angel: Stevie, are you seeing anyone at present?
Steven Lawrence: I have a good friend, but life is full of friends!
lenny_rox: Hey Stevie - did you track down whoever gave you chicken pox?!
Steven Lawrence: Yes, my little niece - I cuddle her too much!
bens_gurl: Hey Steve, did you enjoy the family day?
Steven Lawrence: I thought it was terrific, great turnout, and as usual the people were very friendly.
stevies_angel: What is your favourite food?
Steven Lawrence: It would have to be home cooked spaghetti.
bens_gurl: Who's the funniest guy in the team?
Steven Lawrence: Milney thinks he's the funniest guy in the team! Close behind would be Steve Baker and Luke Ball.
HarveysDeciple: G'day Steve, how’s your injury going? Do you know who we may be without in Round 1, other than Hamill?
Steven Lawrence: My groin and quad are fine. The only player missing for Round 1, apart from Aaron, will be Craig Callaghan.
kirky: How do you think the Saints will go this season?
Steven Lawrence: If we keep our full squad on the park all year, we should finish in the top 6-8, and hopefully reward the supporters who've stuck by us.
stevies_angel: Stevie, what is your golf handicap?
Steven Lawrence: What's the highest you can have? - that would be it! I don't take it too seriously or else I wouldn't enjoy it - my GAME is the handicap!
Colby: Stevie, do you have any friends from other clubs?
Steven Lawrence: Yes, still back up in Brisbane, and from other clubs too.
kirky: Who was your role model as a kid?
Steven Lawrence: Apart from my father, I’d have to say Gavin Brown, and as a young player, Michael Voss.
lenny_rox: Stevie - do you have a younger player at the Club that you look out for?
Steven Lawrence: We all sort of look out for each other, it's a very close Club, but no one player in particular.
danni_luvs_riewoldt: What music are you in to?
Steven Lawrence: All types - from U2, Counting Crows, and lots of Australian bands, to Neil Diamond.
Spelly: Stevie, all the supporters love the way you put your body in and protect your team mates. Has your Dad offered any advice in that regard?
Steven Lawrence: I think that was a quality I got from my parents; Dad always said as a young fella, put your body in and go hard.
HarveysDeciple: How hard was it to play against St Kilda whilst you were at Brissy?
Steven Lawrence: It was on occasions, but when you're on the field, you don't think about those things.
bens_gurl: What would you want to be doing if you weren't a Saints’ player?
Steven Lawrence: I always hoped to be a physiotherapist, and travelling around the world.
stevies_angel: What are your plans for the weekend, seeing as you have the weekend off?
Steven Lawrence: I’ll be playing with Springvale because I’ve missed the last three games.
bens_gurl: Were you disappointed with the big loss on the weekend?
Steven Lawrence: Yes, very disappointing, but one good sign was we had lots of young players getting a taste of league footy.
lenny_rox: What do you think went wrong?
Steven Lawrence: I think we just took it a bit too easy and didn't attack the ball hard enough.
danni_luvs_riewoldt: Hey Stevie, if you could wish for anything in the world, what would you wish for?
Steven Lawrence: A deserted island with a wife and kids, and plenty of food and drink.
Spelly: Stevie, what is your favourite television program?
Steven Lawrence: I don't watch telly much...Secret life of us.
lenny_rox: Where did you start your footy career? - playing junior footy, Auskick?
Steven Lawrence: I actually started when I was about 5 with the Mentone Tigers.
lenny_rox: Do you have a job outside footy - or are you studying?
Steven Lawrence: I’m doing a bit of property development, and I’m starting a business with my family.
stevies_angel: Do you miss Queensland?
Steven Lawrence: I miss some things about it - my friends and some of the lifestyle, but the blokes here are great, and it's where footy is best.
bens_gurl: Who are the big improvers this year so far with the practice matches and training?
Steven Lawrence: Definitely Troy Schwarze, Luke Ball, and Lenny Hayes looks red hot again.
HarveysDeciple: What’s the Telstra Dome surface like to play on. It gets criticised a lot, but from a player’s point of view, what’s it like?
Steven Lawrence: Personally, not bad, it reminds me a bit of the GABBA - I think it's improved a lot in the last year or so.
stevies_angel: Who is your favourite female celebrity?
Steven Lawrence: It would have to be Charlize Theron.
bens_gurl: How is it different playing in Melbourne most of the time compared to Queensland?
Steven Lawrence: The weather is different for a start, but the whole football environment down here is different, you are closely scrutinised in whatever you do.
lenny_rox: Until when are you contracted to the Club? - a long time I hope!
Steven Lawrence: I am up for a new contract at the end of this year, so hopefully I have a good one and get another contract!
Steven Lawrence: Thanks everyone for the questions, stick with us all year, and get to as many games as you can!
Steven Lawrence: I have to take off now - got a meeting at the Club, so I’ll see you later. Thanks, bye.
