THERE'S no definitive process or timeline for a new coach but Gold Coast has announced the four-man sub-committee charged with replacing sacked coach Guy McKenna.

Directors Alan MacKenzie and Tony Cochrane, acting chief executive Andrew Travis and general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft make up the committee.

Travis will chair it and has been given authority to appoint an independent facilitator and an experienced football consultant should the committee desire.

Suns won't rush coaching decision

In a letter sent to members on Thursday night, Suns chairman John Witheriff also outlined a number of proposed changes following a review into the football department that ultimately accounted for McKenna.

Among a long list, Witheriff said the Suns would look to restructure their high performance and sports medical team, appoint a full-time recruiting resource, data analyst and more part-time talent identification staff.

They have also committed to recruiting more experienced rookie-listed players in an effort to improve the reserves team that was winless in this year's NEAFL competition.

Witheriff said an implementation plan had been prepared and would be put forward to the board at its next meeting on October 23.
