Hey Ash, Congratulations on reaching 150 games this week! I’ve noticed that you’ve never played a milestone game at the Gabba. You’re always playing away from home. Would you like to experience a milestone match at the Gabba?
Chloe from Diamond Creek (VIC)

Thanks Chloe. It would obviously be great to be able to play it in front of your own home fans, but I guess it’s a privilege to play in any milestone game - regardless of where it's played.

I remember playing my 50th against the Hawks at the MCG and it was pouring down rain. My 100th was against Geelong at Skilled stadium a couple of years ago and we got absolutely mauled.

Is number 9 your favourite number? Why?
Gary from Cleveland (QLD)

I actually wore the number 6 growing up in WA, but it wasn’t available when I arrived at the Club.

So I chose number 9 instead. It’s basically number 6 turned upside down.

Who do you think would be leading the Club’s B&F at the moment? I reckon Michael Rischitelli must be pretty close.
Donald from Rockhampton (QLD)

Yeah, Rischa’s been really good this year. It’s been great to see him going so well, particularly after he went through a bit over the off-season.

I’m not really sure who else. To be honest, I don’t really pay too much attention to those sorts of things.

Hi Ash. Who do you think would be the best candidate to lead the Club when Browny eventually retires? Obviously we all hope that isn’t for a very long time.
Darren from Byron Bay (NSW)

We have a lot of good young leaders.

Tom Rockliff shows great leadership around the Club and has a lot of really good qualities.

He is also a fellow Country Victorian so could probably step straight into that role. But we won't have to worry about that for a while yet.

If you were playing at full-forward, who would you love to be kicking it to you lace out?
Fran from Research (VIC)

Definitely big Bart McCulloch.

His legs are really long so the ball wouldn’t have to travel very far. Also, his quads are in really good shape at the moment.

G'Day Ash. Amon Buchanan tends to play a pretty dirty style of football (trying to stir players up more than others). Does Vossy like this as he was well respected for playing hard but within the rules?
Brad from Flinder View (QLD)

I disagree Brad. Amon doesn’t play a dirty style of football at all. He’s tough, competitive and goes in really hard for the ball - which are all great qualities of our game.

He might get up in the face of some of his opposition, but you always have to expect that on the field. Everyone takes it and dishes it out at some stage.

After all, football is a contact sport.

Congrats on the great performance against St Kilda. I watched the whole game with much interest and it seemed like you guys are taking on a more defensive style of play that is reminiscent of the Lions from 2001, 2002 and 2003. Keep up the great work!
Rob from Sydney (NSW)

Thanks Rob.

We’ve all been working really hard at training to turn things around, so hopefully last week was the first step towards dong that. Hopefully we go one step better this week against the Hawks.

Ash, I’m getting sick of all these Fev rumours. Can you please put to rest the rumour that Fev will not be at the Lions next season so I can shut the in-laws up? My kids love the guy and would be devastated if he left.
Kerri from Reservoir (VIC)

He’s here to stay. He even said so himself at a junior footy club visit yesterday.

He seems to be the target of a few false rumours lately.

But luckily Fev has thick skin and those things don’t bother him too much.

When will Jed Adcock be back from injury?
Kaisha from Carrum Downs (VIC)

I think Jed’s still a couple of weeks away from coming back.

But you might have to check the Club’s injury updates, they’ll know more than I do.

Hi Ash, I was wondering if you guys are having a public training session when you come down to Tassie?
Jessica from Prospect (TAS)

Is their any chance when you boys come down in to play the Hawks that big fans like me can meet all of you boys?
Jules from Launceston (TAS)

Hey guys. The boys are training in Tassie this Friday after we arrive. We will head straight to Aurora Stadium and train at around 4pm.

Our Tassie fans are certainly welcome to come along and watch.

Hello Ashley. When you come to Tasmania are you allowed to stay an extra day and night to get to know and love the place a bit?
Molly from Penguin (TAS)

Mum, I know this is you and I go over this with you every year.

We can’t stay over. We have to get back to Brisbane as quickly as possible so we can start our recovery for next week. It’s particularly important given we have back-to-back interstate travels.

But I’ll be sure to catch up with you in the rooms after the game.

We’ve been going over this every year since we started playing in Tasmania.
