It has been a most frustrating fortnight for me and, I imagine, most of my teammates.

The poor performance and result against Melbourne has really cut deep.

I have channeled a lot of my frustrations into my hobbies, and in particular a pet project that I am working on with Troy Selwood.

We recently came up with this concept of making behind-the-scenes features of guys at the club, showing what life is like away from the football club.

We wanted to show what the personalities are really like, and not just the high profile guys.

The club has really got behind us and is going to stream the first episode on lions.com.au later this week.

Troy and I have done everything – the filming, directing and editing – and we’ve pumped out a few episodes already.

We’ve worked with Browny, Charmo, Blacky and Shermo so far, and hope to work through the whole squad and show sides of their personalities that our fans don’t usually see.

The boys have been pretty supportive of it all, and we might make a DVD to give to them at the end of the year.

Hopefully it will be something that they will always be happy to reflect on.

There will be plenty of laughs in the segments along the way, as some of the boys don’t mind stirring up their mates.

As I’ve mentioned in a couple of my previous columns, I’ve been studying graphic design at university and this works in pretty well with what we’re doing for the website.

It will be branded ‘mac&bunno.tv’, and we’ve put a bit of effort into the series.

We’ve already been to the ‘Get Smart’ premiere and done some stuff there, and gone behind the scenes on a ‘Totally Footy’ shoot, interviewing the guys between segments and getting some of the bloopers on film.

Bunno is actually pretty creative and comes up with some interesting ideas, while I’m more of the nuts and bolts man with the editing and directing.

Bunno’s got a smart mouth too, so he’s not bad on the interviewing.

On the footy side of things, we’re hoping to make a happy ending for our game against Essendon at Telstra Dome on Saturday night, rather than the horror story of the last game against Melbourne.

We do enjoy playing against Essendon and have had some good ones against them over the years.

Last year wasn’t one of them – they smashed us – and we haven’t forgotten that.

Especially as we’re coming off a poor loss, we won’t be leaving anything in the tank on Saturday night.

We’ve got a lot to rectify and we’re really going to have a crack.
