SYDNEY Swans defender Jared Crouch is out of action for at least another month after his injured hamstring failed to respond to treatment.

Stranded on 199 AFL career matches, Crouch was initially expected to miss one or two weeks after straining his hamstring in round nine but his recovery has been slower than anticipated.

"He is probably another month away from playing," coach Paul Roos said on Tuesday.

"It's been a long-term thing. He hasn't really responded as quickly as we'd thought with the hamstring. There hasn't been a recurrence or anything like that. It's just been very, very slow."

"He ran up to about 90 per cent last week, but didn't feel that comfortable. We'll probably just drop it back a little bit to make sure he doesn't re-injure himself.

"It's obviously put him back a fair way, so he won't be playing seniors for probably at least another month."

The Swans' match committee is likely to make limited changes going into this weekend's match against Carlton, after all players recovered well from Sunday afternoon's 28-point victory.

"They all pulled up pretty well," Roos said.

"We expect everyone who played last weekend to play again this weekend.

"They're all fit. Amon (Buchanan) played in the seconds on the weekend and we want to get him back in the side. Lewie Roberts-Thompson is still getting back into form.

"It's hard to get into a winning team (so) expect limited changes. Whether there's one or none, we'll have to wait and see."

Roos said he was happy with Buchanan's performance in the reserves after being dropped from the senior side.

"It was a bit like what Schneids (Adam Schneider) did the week before. You try to send them back to get in some good form.

"Probably the only difference between Schneids and Amon is we lost when Schneids was in the seconds and won when Amon was, so it makes it a little bit harder for Amon.

"Amon got a bit of the ball and did really well. The only reason he wouldn't play was if we just couldn't find a spot for him."
