LAST TIME THEY MET
The Lions were hunting their first win at the SCG in seven years against an emotion-charged Sydney outfit that was farewelling three of their star players.

The Lions took the slenderest of leads into quarter time but piled on seven goals to three is a dominant second quarter.

Early second half goals gave the Lions a seemingly unassailable 38-point lead early in the third term. But momentum swung back to the Swans who booted five quick goals to sneak within striking distance at the final change.

A tense and low-scoring final term saw Sydney sneak to within a point at the 25-minute mark, but Justin Sherman steadied the ship with his third major in the dying minutes.

The win earned the Lions a Home Final the following weekend at the Gabba.

Brownlow Medal Votes: 3 - S. Black (BL), 2 - M. Clark (BL), 1 - A. Goodes (Syd).
