AFL Statement

The AFL has confirmed the fixture schedule for week three of the 2022 Toyota AFL Finals Series will be as follows:

Friday, 16 September
First Preliminary Final, Geelong vs. the winner of Melbourne v the Brisbane Lions at the MCG, 7.50pm AEST

Saturday, 17 September
Second Preliminary Final, the Sydney Swans v the winner of Collingwood v Fremantle at SCG, 4.45pm AEST

AFL EGM Clubs, Finance and Broadcasting Travis Auld said he expects week three of the 2022 Toyota AFL Finals Series to be another thrilling round of football.

"We've seen amazing contests throughout week one of the Finals Series, and I have no doubt the upcoming Semi and Preliminary Finals will be the same impressive standard of football.

"Millions of Australians will be watching the Preliminary Finals with bated breath – whether it be in the stadiums or on TV – to see who earns the coveted honour of playing in the 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final," he said.

The Preliminary Final matches have been scheduled to ensure that all teams have a minimum seven-day break leading into their games.

As a reminder to all media, in August the AFL announced a price freeze to national entry level tickets for all games until the conclusion of the Preliminary Finals.

Match day ticket information for all games across the country can be sourced at afl.com.au/finals.

All matches in week three of the 2022 Toyota AFL Finals Series will be broadcast live nationally on the Seven Network, Fox Footy and Kayo.
