IT’S a big day of action in the rebel VFLW practice matches on Saturday, with four games set to take centre stage across Melbourne and Geelong.

The footy kicks off at 11am when rivals Carlton and Collingwood lock horns at IKON Park and Geelong hosts Western Bulldogs at Deakin University, with a couple of interesting names featuring.

Delisted AFLW Swans Genevieve Lawson-Tavan (Carlton) and Sarah Skinner (Bulldogs) appear to have found new homes after previously playing for Darebin and North Melbourne respectively.

The Bulldogs have some good names in their squad aside from Skinner, with young guns Paige Cook and India Barker to play, while Dom Carbone will play after lining up for Port Melbourne last week.

The Cats have streamlined their squad from the one that lost to Williamstown last week, with Renee Garing and Breanna Beckley among 12 to have a rest as they cut their team from 35 to 26.

The Blues have gone the other way, with ex-Bulldog Lulu Beatty joining Lawson-Tavan among six inclusions, while Amy Malander and Sarah McCausland are the only two to sit it out.

Collingwood star Nyakoat Dojiok will make her first appearance of the season, while Katelyn Lee, Rene Caris and Sarah King are among the six to stay in civilian clothes this week.

Casey Demons take on Southern Saints in a preliminary final rematch at Casey Fields at 12pm, with the Demons making 10 changes to the team that narrowly lost to Essendon.

Cara McCrossan, Kara Henderson, Ali Dowler, Alex Kirkwood and Brooke Borchard play their first games of the year and Steph Rummel and Kelly Thompson join those on the sidelines.

The Saints will give opportunities to a few young hopefuls, although Maighan Fogas’ return from injury is a great sight and Georgia McLean also returns, with Ebony Nixon, Tayla Kearns and Gabby DeAngelis among those to miss.

And the NEC Hangar fires up at 1pm for a VFLW/VFL double header, with the Bombers to take on Box Hill Hawks in the women before the men face Frankston.

Premiership player Renee Tierney comes in for Essendon alongside gun young recruit Caitlin Sargent among four inclusions, with Nat McDonald, Grace Dicker, Eleanor Cornish and Gloria Elarmaly among nine to rest.

The Hawks have vice-captain Jordan Mifsud and Akayla Peterson among four inclusions with Kristy Stratton, Sky Wilson and Jade Wise going out alongside Emily Worpel, who returns to Geelong.
