NORTH Melbourne's Majak Daw has been named to play his first game since being charged with an alleged sexual assault dating back to 2007.

The Sudanese-born forward was a late inclusion for the Kangaroos’ clash against Carlton at Etihad Stadium on Friday night, replacing young tall Ben Brown.

Daw, who was charged by Victoria Police on July 1, has not featured for the Roos since their 28-point win over Richmond in round 12, when he was substituted at half-time with four disposals and one mark.

Meanwhile, Carlton forward Jarrad Waite has won a late recall and has replaced Brock McLean in the Blues' selected side.

The 31-year-old veteran, who has been the subject of much conjecture about his future at Visy Park, will play his first AFL game since the Blues' eight-point round 14 loss to Greater Western Sydney.

Waite played two games in the VFL since, but was a late withdrawal from the Northern Blues’ match last Sunday with a calf complaint.

Carlton, which won a one-point thriller against the Roos last season, is gunning for back-to-back wins over North for the first time since 2001.

Brad Scott's Kangaroos would move to within a game of the top four with their 11th win for the season on Friday night.

Jack Ziebell was named as the Kangaroos' substitute for his first game since round 15.
