RICHMOND has handed new one-year contracts to forward Aaron Edwards, defender Jake Batchelor and key position players Ben Griffiths and Todd Elton.

Edwards joined the Tigers from North Melbourne during last year's Gillette Trade and Free Agency Period.

He booted 11 goals in Richmond's last three games, including two in the elimination final loss to Carlton.

Batchelor has played 39 games since joining the Tigers in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft.

The 21-year-old notched 16 AFL appearances in his debut campaign and 14 last year, but he struggled to hold his place in the team this season.

Griffiths' only AFL appearance of the season was against Carlton in the opening round.

The 22-year-old, who was drafted back in 2009, played 14 VFL games for the Coburg Tigers.

An athletic big man, Elton made his AFL debut against Adelaide in 2012 but is yet to play another game at the highest level.

The 20-year-old tallied 18 games for the Coburg Tigers in the VFL this season, booting 11 goals and appearing in their best players twice.
