CHARLIE Constable produced yet another unstoppable performance as Geelong powered back into the VFL top four with a 75-point belting of Essendon at GMHBA Stadium on Friday.
Backing up their 118-point devastation of Brisbane last week, the Cats blew the Bombers off the park with six goals to one in the first quarter and added another five to one in the second to lead by 56 at half-time and have the points in the bag.
Essendon broke even in the third term but Geelong added another four in the final quarter, the 16.6 (102) to 3.9 (27) win handing the Cats a 6-2 record after eight matches.

It was the Bombers’ lowest score in eight visits to Kardinia Park and leaves them languishing in 19th spot on the ladder at 2-6.
Constable had 23 disposals by half-time and went on to rack up 41, plus five marks, 13 clearances and five inside-50s to lift his season averages to 32.9 possessions, 4.9 marks and 7.8 clearances.
Former AFL Cat and Blue Darcy Lang had kicked 70 goals across 112 games at AFL and VFL level, but turned it on with four first-half majors on his way to a career-best bag of five on the back of 25 disposals and nine tackles.
Oscar Brownless continued his fine season with 26 touches and two goals, while Darcy Fort had 21, five marks and 22 hitouts, and youngsters Jye Chalcraft (23), Nick Stevens (21, one goal) and Francis Evans (three goals) also shone.
Geelong’s dominance was shown up by the fact it kicked 16 goals despite full-forward Josh Jenkins going scoreless from just nine touches.
Essendon was able to take some positives from the game, with Dylan Clarke getting through his first match of the season after injury and racking up 25 touches, behind only Nick O’Kearney (33, eight tackles), with Joe Atley (23) and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher (20) also going well and Nick Bryan (17, 29 hitouts) having a terrific tussle with the more experienced Fort.
The Bombers lost Irishman Cian McBride after a collision with Zach Guthrie in the third quarter.
