VERDICT
Richmond's fixture won't harm its chances of finally returning to the finals, given it plays only one 2012 finalist (Fremantle) twice. Other return match-ups are against the Western Bulldogs, St Kilda, Carlton and Essendon. In a sign of their expected emergence, the Tigers have seven big night time clashes, including Easter Thursday against Carlton, two Friday night games, and a Monday night away game against West Coast on 'WA Day'. They have a good run home, with four of their last five matches at the MCG and the other away to the Giants.

CLUB REACTION
 ?
"We were keen to maintain our season-opening fixture against Carlton. It launches the season in football's heartland and has grown into one of the biggest matches of the season. Playing 13 games at the MCG, including nine home games, is also something that will please our fans... From a commercial perspective, we are pleased our fans will be able to see Richmond on free-to-air television 12 times during the 2013 season. We have the same amount of Friday night games as we did in 2012, though next year they are both away games." - Tigers CEO Brendon Gale
