The Temper Trap

THE AFL is pleased to announce Australian multi-ARIA award winning indie rock band, The Temper Trap, will perform at the Norwood Food & Wine Festival on Sunday, April 7 as part of Gather Round…A Festival of Footy.

Footy fans and eventgoers alike will have the opportunity to soak up some of South Australia’s best food, beverage and entertainment offerings at the free event that will be held along The Parade ahead of the sold-out match between St Kilda and Richmond at Norwood Oval.

Known for their smash hits including ‘Sweet Disposition’, ‘Love Lost’ and ‘Fader’, The Temper Trap will headline an expansive lineup of live entertainment throughout the festival and will be joined by local musicians including the Dusty Lee Band and Motel Music.

The Temper Trap lead singer, Dougy Mandagi said the band looked forward to performing at the Norwood Food & Wine Festival.

“We love coming to South Australia – a state that loves festivals, having good times and of course footy,” Mandagi said.

“We’ve done some really cool things with the AFL over the years, and we’re excited to play at the Norwood Food & Wine Festival during AFL Gather Round. Look forward to seeing you there.”

Fans snapped up tickets for this year’s Gather Round quickly with eight out of nine matches sold out in days and now only a handful of tickets remain to see the reigning Premiers Collingwood play Hawthorn on Sunday afternoon, ahead of the free Gather Live concert with Jet and Baker Boy.

In great news for fans that missed out, the AFL will release a limited number of tickets to all matches at 1pm (venue local time) on Thursday, March 21. Tickets are expected to sell out fast so fans are encouraged to get in quick.

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon said the entertainment offering for Gather Round is shaping up to be bigger than ever before, with one last chance for fans to secure the hottest ticket in town.

“With eight matches sold out across Gather Round already, we are thrilled to announce a limited release of tickets to all matches will go on sale for fans this Thursday,” Dillon said.

“The countdown to Gather Round has officially commenced and we’ve seen an unprecedented level of interest for this year’s Festival of Football in Adelaide.

“In response to this demand, we will see entertainment offerings throughout the city rise to another level. The Norwood Food & Wine Festival on Sunday is sure to be one of the highlights, and we’re excited to have The Temper Trap on board to get the party started.”

The Norwood Food & Wine Festival, which last took place in 2012, has been refreshed for 2024 and will feature a showcase of South Australia’s culinary culture together with live entertainment.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said the revamped festival would provide an afternoon of festive fun in true South Australian style.  

“We know how much local and visiting footy fans loved Gather Round last year, and now we’re making it even bigger,” Premier Malinauskas said.

“South Australians will well remember the Norwood Food & Wine Festival. Now, in the context of Gather Round, it becomes a prime opportunity to showcase our state’s amazing food and wine to the rest of the country, amidst music and roving entertainment.

“It will be fun, free to enter and the perfect celebration of our state and what it shares with the world.”

The Norwood Food & Wine Festival will commence from 11am to 8pm on Sunday, April 7and complement the AFL’s Footy Festival live site activation in Norwood Memorial Gardens.

If ticketholders can no longer attend Gather Round, fans can transfer their ticket to family/friends via the Ticketek app or alternatively, return their ticket and receive a refund.

Fans can return some or all the tickets in their order by simply tapping “Return” on their mobile ticket in the Ticketek app. Returns will be accepted up until 9am (venue local time) on the day of the game. More information on how to return tickets is available via this link.
