THE AFL congratulates goal umpire Chelsea Roffey who will officiate her 300th AFL match during the round six Collingwood v Port Adelaide game at the MCG this Saturday.

A career spanning more than 20 years, Roffey umpired her first AFL match in 2004, after beginning her umpiring journey with QAFL in 1999.

Roffey has officiated in one AFL Grand Final and 16 AFL final matches. Chelsea was also recipient of the Leigh Keen Shield Winner in 2012.

Across her career, Roffey has umpired in front of a total attendance of more than 10 million people, and seen 7637 goals and 6891 behinds in games where she has been one of the two goal umpires.

AFL Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Dillon said that Chelsea's achievement was a tremendous effort.

"Chelsea's dedication to the game and performance at the highest level of Umpiring is outstanding.

"To reach 300 games is an unbelievable milestone, one that the whole football industry is simply in awe off.

"On behalf of the AFL, I'd like to congratulate Chelsea and her family on this wonderful achievement and look forward to seeing her on the MCG on Saturday in what will be a memorable occasion for all."

AFL Executive General Football Operations Laura Kane congratulated Chelsea on this momentous milestone.

"Chelsea has been role model for many Umpires coming through out talent pathways. Her dedication and enthusiasm for supporting the next generation of female umpiring is a testament to her character," Ms Kane said.

"Chelsea has been a part of the umpiring team for more than 20 years and we applaud her on this amazing accomplishment and thank her for her contribution to umpiring thus far."
