The AFL has today imposed a lifetime ban on the patron who ran onto the ground and at venue security staff during the North Melbourne vs Collingwood game at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

The patron, who isn’t a club or AFL member, has been handed a lifetime ban from ALL AFL and AFLW matches, with the ban eligible to be reviewed after five years.

After being removed from the venue by Victoria Police, the patron tried to then get back in via another entrance and was subsequently removed again.

"Running onto the ground during a match is dangerous, senseless and unlawful," AFL General Counsel Stephen Meade said.

"As we reiterated earlier in the year, if you choose to do it you will have deal with local authorities and ultimately lose the privilege of attending AFL matches."

The patron also received two penalty notices from Victoria Police.
