In round 17 we celebrate Toyota Good for Footy Round, encouraging clubs to take advantage of the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle and to nominate people in the community for the Toyota AFL Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Toyota Good for Footy Round kicks off this week ahead of Round 17 of the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, as the league recognises the significant contribution its Premier Partner makes to Australian Rules Football, from grassroots to elite.

As one of the longest sporting partnerships in the world, Toyota has supported Aussie Rules for more than 20 years and has raised more than $12.6 million for thousands of local clubs through the 'Good for Footy' programs.

At the heart of the Toyota Good for Footy Round is encouraging clubs to 'Raise Like a Legend' and register for the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle, as well as calling on communities to nominate local heroes for the Toyota AFL National Volunteer of the Year Awards - both rewarding and recognising clubs and individuals that help footy thrive.

This year sees another incredible prize pool on offer for the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle including three brand-new Toyota vehicles, private coaching clinics with AFL players and coaches, money-can't-buy experiences, as well as 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final tickets – including accommodation and travel.

Tickets are only $5 and all proceeds raised by the clubs goes straight back to the clubs, meaning they can use those funds to purchase new uniforms, equipment or upgrade facilities. Last year the raffle raised $1,242,865 across 913 clubs – the largest total on record since the raffle started in 2015!

The raffle closes on Monday 8 September and will be drawn on Friday 12 September.

For the second year in a row, the national recipients of the Toyota AFL Community Volunteer of the Year and Toyota AFL Young Leader of the Year will also both drive home in a brand-new Toyota vehicle thanks to the AFL's Premier Partner.

AFL Executive General Manager of Customer and Commercial, Bec Haagsma, said Toyota Good for Footy Round provided the perfect opportunity to recognise Toyota's dedication and passion to help grow Australian football.

"On behalf of the AFL we're thrilled to kick off Toyota Good for Footy Round this week across the country and celebrate the enormous contribution Toyota has made to our game over more than two decades," Haagsma said.

"We're very fortunate and proud to have a partner that loves Aussie Rules as much as we do and shares in our vision to grow the game by helping local clubs thrive, supporting the foundation of our game at grassroots to secure its future for the next generation.

"I'd like to thank Toyota and their team for their ongoing commitment to support communities, recognise and reward volunteers, and make footy accessible for all."

Toyota Australia's Chief Marketing Officer, Vin Naidoo, said footy has a special place in the hearts of people across the country, and Toyota is proud to have been contributing to the game at all levels for more than 20 years.

"This Toyota Good for Footy Round we want to celebrate the often-unsung legends involved in all aspects of footy, because we to know that for many, it's more than just a game. We want to spotlight those there for the early starts and late finishes, the muddy boots and the homemade orange slices, the dedicated volunteers, coaches, players and supporters.

"For over two decades, Toyota has proudly supported the AFL, driven by a shared belief in the power of footy to unite and inspire. These legends are the heartbeat of our national game, and it's why Toyota remains committed to supporting footy, from the grassroots to the elite."

Toyota Good for Footy Round kicks off on Thursday night when North Melbourne hosts the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
