About this role:

We are looking for a values-driven person to join our Social Impact team.

Our programs aim to enhance the experience of football leagues, clubs and their broader communities, through access to mental health and wellbeing workshops, and supporting tailored, sustainable, community-led initiatives.

 The Community Programs Coordinator will lead the design, coordination and facilitation of mental health and wellbeing program/s and initiatives to communities across Western Australia, utilising the broad football network to deliver to identified cohorts. With a strong community focus, the role looks to apply core community development principles to prioritise the needs and capacity of the communities that the Social Impact arm serves, while prioritising the sustainability and impact of programming.

This role sits at the intersection of community development, health promotion, and football engagement, requiring strong project management, facilitation, and partnership-building skills.

Flexibility is required for attending events during the evening and at weekends, as well as the availability for travel throughout metro and regional WA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project logistics including scheduling, stakeholder invitations, venue arrangements, and materials
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for club committees, community stakeholders, and local leaders
  • Monitor project milestones, ensuring delivery aligns with approved timelines, budget, and evaluation requirements
  • Support local community leaders and club representatives to co-design and implement locally relevant prevention strategies
  • Work collaboratively with regional leagues, clubs, Elders, and community leaders to foster participation and ownership
     

REQUIREMENTS TO UNDERTAKE THE POSITION:

  • Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Health Promotion, Social Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience working within community sport, wellbeing, or social impact projects.
  • Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid
  • Current C-class driver’s licence and ability to travel regionally as required.
  • Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES TO UNDERTAKE THE POSITION:

  • Strong project coordination experience, ideally in community services, health, or community development.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including First Nations communities and regional partners.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with confidence presenting to groups and building relationships
  • Understanding of community-based prevention, health promotion, or wellbeing frameworks
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work respectfully in regional and remote settings
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture
