YARTAPUULTI forward Indy Tahau will miss the rest of the season after scans confirmed an ACL injury in her right knee. 

It's a cruel blow for the Power forward who claimed last season's League leading goalkicker award, finally getting back onto the park after a horror run of injuries. 

Tahau, who previously tore her left ACL, was helped from the field late in the third term against Greater Western Sydney on Sunday and looked in serious distress.

It was a heartbreaking blow in an otherwise thrilling win for the Power, who snatched a four-point victory over the Giants with a goal seconds before the final siren.

The 2025 All-Australian leaves a gaping hole in the Power's front half, with more responsibility to fall on the shoulders of players such as Gemma Houghton and Lauren Young. 

Port Adelaide women's footy boss Daniel Merrett said the news was a huge blow for both Tahau and the football program.

"To suffer a season-ending injury so early in the season is incredibly tough news for Indy and the entire football club," Merrett said.

"Indy had an incredible season last year and made another strong start to the 2026 season. There's no doubt we will sorely miss her out on the field.

"Her immediate thought post-game was her teammates and celebrating the win with them, which is a credit to Indy's character and team-first attitude.

"Despite another setback, Indy has shown remarkable maturity and dedication throughout her injury rehabilitation journey. 

"We're confident she'll attack this next phase with the same determination and professionalism she has shown previously, and she will have the full support of the football club."

The Power take on the Gold Coast at Alberton Oval on Saturday afternoon in round four.
