MELBOURNE has dropped ruckman Jake Spencer and backman Jack Grimes for its Queens Birthday clash against Collingwood.

Ruckman Max Gawn, who was best on ground in his last VFL match with 34 hit-outs and three goals, joins Aidan Riley and Ben Newton as inclusions for the Demons.

Melbourne’s emergencies for Monday are Viv Michie and Jake Spencer, who both played in the VFL on Saturday, and Grimes.

Collingwood has made one change, bringing Tim Broomhead in for Taylor Adams.

The Magpies emergencies are Sam Dwyer, Ben Kennedy and Brayden Maynard.

On Friday, North Melbourne made three changes in response to the Kangaroos' 'disgusting' loss to Collingwood last Sunday.

Shaun Atley has become the third casualty after Luke McDonald and Kayne Turner were dropped on Thursday.

Skipper Andrew Swallow, Scott McMahon and Ben Jacobs return for the clash against West Coast on Sunday at Blundstone Arena.

The Eagles welcome back young midfielders Elliot Yeo and Dom Sheed at the expense of Jamie Bennell and Brant Colledge.

Farren Ray and Seb Ross will line up for St Kilda for the first time this year after both required hamstring surgery in the pre-season.

Shane Savage has also returned for the Saints' clash against Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium.

The trio replaces Luke Dunstan (rested), Maverick Weller (suspended) and Daniel McKenzie (concussion).

Jordan Lewis is back for the Hawks and Ryan Schoenmakers has also been included at the expense of injured forward Paul Puopolo (foot) and Daniel Howe.

Injury has forced the Brisbane Lions into five changes for the clash against Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium on Sunday.

Experienced midfielder Pearce Hanley will play for the first time this year after recovering from his hip injury.

Hugh Beasley will make his AFL debut while Sam Mayes, Jordon Bourke and Tom Cutler have also been included.

The Lions lost captain Tom Rockliff to broken ribs, defender Jed Adcock to a calf, forward Ryan Harwood to concussion, and midfielders Claye Beams (knee) and James Aish (jaw).

The Giants have made just two changes with Nathan Wilson and co-captain Phil Davis returning in place of Nick Haynes (groin) and Adam Kennedy.

Melbourne and Collingwood will finalise their teams for the Queen's Birthday clash on Saturday.
