AFL FANTASY pre-season is coming to an end as the final week of the Marsh Community Series is now behind us. Clubs took this final opportunity to play as near to full-strength line-ups as possible as we edge closer and closer to the round one lockout.

With clubs opting to play their best possible teams, we now have a better indication of which rookies we might see make their debuts and which players have made permanent role changes for the season ahead.

Adelaide v Gold Coast

Although the Suns took the points, it was Brodie Smith's (DEF, $646,000) 124 points that had the Fantasy world talking. Off the wing he looked unstoppable with 34 disposals and nine marks.

Top NAB AFL Draft picks Matt Rowell (MID, $270,000) and Noah Anderson (MID, $268,000) also didn't put a foot wrong in their limited game time, scoring 50 and 30 respectively. Although they're not huge scores, the boys achieved this in less than half a game, securing themselves a guaranteed start in round one.

Jeremy Sharp (MID, $218,000) also played himself into the round one conversation when he came on in the second half and scored 40 in the third term. He ended the day on 60 and is another Gold Coast rookie well in the mix to debut.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY The 20 biggest moments from 20 years at Docklands

For those coaches who have Lachie Weller (DEF, $612,000) locked away as a sneaky secret, you would have liked what you saw with his 89. Playing as a pure midfielder, he accumulated 27 touches right alongside Hugh Greenwood (MID/FWD, $581,000), who started the game on fire only to drop off as the game unfolded, on his way to 66 points.

PRE-SEASON LADDER Who's on top, who's got work to do

Hawthorn v Melbourne

Turning back the clock was Melbourne veteran Jack Viney (MID, $611,000). He has had an outstanding pre-season, backing up his 114 from last week with 110. Viney has averaged more than 100 in the past and is only priced at an average of 82. He is another mid-priced player with his hat well and truly in the ring.

Jonathon Patton (RUC/FWD, $366,000) kicked the first goal for his 35 points, only to be put on ice as he played just half a game. Our beloved pig, Tom Mitchell (MID, $671,000), was everywhere as he mustered up another ton with six tackles and looks back to his best.

However, all eyes were on the roles of Chad Wingard (MID/FWD, $582,0000) and Christian Petracca (FWD, $563,000). For both players, the midfielder role was there but their points were not. Wingard managed just 43 and while Petracca's 78 was slightly better, it was a long way down from his sensational performance in week one when he scored a massive 145.

Port Adelaide v Western Bulldogs

Fantasy favourite Tim English (RUC, $572,000) led all scorers with 120 as Scott Lycett went down with an injured ankle during the third quarter. Justin Westhoff (MID/FWD, $574,000) was then required to help out in the ruck and thrived with 109.

Jack Macrae (MID, $858,000) and Josh Dunkley (MID, $824,000) did enough to keep their coaches happy, scoring 72 and 87, whereas Marcus Bontempelli (MID, $777,000) scored another ton, once again proving why he is a serious option in the midfield. He averaged 105 last season and looks set to improve on that even more.

Connor Rozee (FWD, $539,000) didn't appear to see the midfield time he received last week for his 64, and although he was playing as a midfielder Dan Houston (DEF/MID, $596,000) spent a little time as a tagger concentrating on Bontempelli. Houston managed 61 from just 41 per cent game time in his new role, a role that hopefully doesn't stick.

LIST RATINGS Roos' shock rise, Dogs tipped to shine

West Coast v Fremantle

The hype is real. Andrew Brayshaw (MID/FWD, $516,000) attended the most centre bounces for the Dockers as he topped the Fremantle scores with 118. After his 90 in week one against the Blues, we have now seen enough to be convinced that he is the real deal with a new role.

On the flipside, Adam Cerra (DEF, $451,000) spent most of his time coming off half-back for his score of 69. Many were hoping for more from Cerra with Blake Acres on the sidelines after his 83 last week, but it appears that the midfield time we hoped for won't be happening in 2020.

For the Eagles, Jarrod Brander (DEF/FWD, $217,000) found himself out on a wing again as he worked his way to 57. This role of his is a defensive one and not a role that will result in huge scores. He is in their best 22 though and is still value based on his price.

Sitting under five per cent ownership are Andrew Gaff (MID, $824,000) and Elliot Yeo (MID, $762,000) who dominated for their scores of 120 and 126 respectively, collecting 65 possessions between them. Two Fantasy stars that are being overlooked.

FULL FIXTURE Every round, every game

Greater Western Sydney v Richmond

From 32 disposals and 11 marks, Stephen Coniglio (MID, $769,000) was simply amazing with 149. As expected, he did spend some time forward but it didn't slow his scoring. Lachie Whitfield (MID/FWD, $844,000) scored 109 and justified why you need to pay up to secure his services, while Sam Jacobs (RUC, $514,000) cemented himself in many teams with 109. He took nine marks as he collected his 18 possessions all over the ground.

Nick Haynes (DEF, $589,000) continued his hot form, scoring 113 from a game-high 14 marks. He scored 118 and 119 in the preliminary and Grand Final last year and could be one of the breakout contenders this year.

Of the rookies, Tom Green (MID, $252,000) made the most of his midfield opportunities with 68 points, while Lachlan Ash (DEF/MID, $264,000) continued to push for a game in round one with 54 from just 69 per cent time on ground.

For the Tigers, Marlion Pickett (MID, $170,000) found the ball 20 times for his score of 88. He currently sits in 60 per cent of completed teams. Dustin Martin (MID/FWD, $721,000) slotted two goals and did as he pleased on his way to 93.

Collingwood v St Kilda

Who is running the gauntlet and not starting with Brodie Grundy (RUC, $906,000) in their team?

A few are now seriously considering it after he managed just 77 going head to head with Patrick Ryder and Rowan Marshall. Jeremy Howe (DEF, $515,000) and Jack Crisp (DEF, $725,000) both scored well, accumulating 127 and 106 respectively after they both claimed double-figure marks.

John Noble (DEF, $400,000) scored 73 but finished the day as the only Magpie not to lay a tackle. He scored 88 in week one of the pre-season and is priced at an average of 54 after only managing to play three games last year. Taylor Adams (MID, $706,000) scored well with 50 in just over half a game but a hip injury ended his day prematurely.

00:20

Jack Steele (MID, $712,000) laid a game-high 11 tackles to his way to 113 and Max King (FWD, $170,000) looked very good early, kicking a goal in his 46 points.

00:19

After missing the first week of the Marsh Community Series, Dylan Roberton (DEF, $327,000) proved to everyone that he is fit and healthy scoring 70. The defender took nine marks and should cement himself in all Fantasy teams leading into round one.

SECRETS TO SUCCESS How best to use the new utility position

Carlton v Brisbane

Not one Carlton player hit triple figures as the Blues convincingly beaten by Brisbane thanks to a five-goal haul from Charlie Cameron (FWD, $499,000). He led all scorers and finished the day with 144, ahead of Dayne Zorko (MID, $775,000) on 113.

Grant Birchall (DEF, $428,000) was looking great early, scoring 70 in 64 per cent game time, but then he injured his hand in the second quarter. For those considering the veteran, this will need to be monitored over the coming days.

00:38

Brisbane's rookies Deven Robertson (MID, $228,000) and Brandon Starcevich (DEF/MID, $189,000) scored 52 and 39 respectively, but their positions in the best 22 are still up in the air.

Sam Docherty (DEF, $563,000) was instrumental out of defence, scoring 87 from 10 marks. He scored 79 in his first game in week one and now sits in 47 per cent of teams.

FULL AFL INJURY LIST How many weeks will they miss?

North Melbourne v Sydney

All eyes were on Sam Naismith (RUC, $284,000) and whether or not he is Sydney's No.1 ruckman - and the answer is yes. He was up against Todd Goldstein and scored 68 in 72 per cent game time and is quickly turning into a must-have ruckman. Josh P. Kennedy (MID, $744,000) turned back the clock with 10 tackles and top-scored for the game with a huge 143.

Jordan Dawson (DEF/FWD, $614,000) didn't replicate his 97 from last week as he spent a lot of time in the defensive half. He ended the day on 57.

Curtis Taylor (FWD, $170,000) did his round one chances no harm with a sensational game of 94, the fourth-best for the Kangaroos. Taylor scored 45 in his first pre-season game but did so from just 42 per cent time on ground.

02:43

Geelong v Essendon

Jack Steven (MID/FWD, $653,000) came out firing in the final game for the pre-season, scoring 90 points in just 65 per cent time on ground. He racked up 26 disposals and slotted straight into the Geelong midfield.

For the Bombers, Zach Merrett (MID, $803,000) and Andrew McGrath (MID, $554,000) both hit triple figures and Devon Smith (MID/FWD, $720,000) was impressive laying 10 tackles. He finished the day with 110 and for the first time this year, he looked back to his best and may even challenge his 2018 average of 107.

Jacob Townsend (FWD, $266,000) needed three goals in his score of 53. Townsend only managed eight possessions for the day though and sat forward for his 67 per cent game time.
